Background Information: |
Following the third world war, his ancestors purchased and secured the Augusta
National Golf Club, the most prestigious golf course in America. Although times
and countries have changed (United Earth, for one), Golf still remained
relatively popular. Matthew was born to his father, who inherited and runs the
course, and his mother, a well known Starfleet educator.
Upon entering high school, Matthew immediately applied to Starfleet Academy.
Though he did not get in his first two attempts (mainly due to his age), he was
able to get in on this third attempt. He completed the academy at the top of
his class, at one point in time serving on red squadron. While it was believed
Matthew would one day enter the command department, Matthew trained as a
tactical/security officer, mainly because of his mother’s great history in the
field – serving as a high ranking tactical officer during the Klingon war.
Matthew served amicably on several vessels before returning to Earth to enter
command school as a Lieutenant, the earliest possible ranking. Upon completion
of the school, serving in Red Squadron’s elite division once again, Matthew
earned his first command role (albeit as a second officer) on the USS Nebraska.
Following the ship’s encounter with “The Joker”, Matthew earned his first red
collar position as the executive officer of Deep Space 9 and it’s attached
vessel, the USS Polaris |
