A year after the end of the Federation/Klingon War,
the Klingon Empire has agreed to relinquish the Bajoran system to the
Federation. Starfleet Command orders Captain Benjamin Wolf to assume
command of Starbase Deep Space Nine, and launches the U.S.S. Polaris with
orders to proceed to the Bajoran system. |

The U.S.S. Polaris arrives at Deep Space Nine, and an away team is sent over to
restore power. The Polaris detects a Klingon transport hiding behind one of
Bajor's moons, and moves to intercept. |

Stardate 98008.7 |
While the away team on the station deals with a rogue Klingon warrior, the
crew of the Polaris disables and boards the Klingon transport, which was
carrying stolen loot from Bajor. The loot is transported to the ship, and
Wolf discovers a Bajoran orb. The orb causes the Bajoran wormhole to reopen. |

While the captain and a his team investigates the reopening of the Bajoran wormhole,
they are greeted by Benjamin Sisko, who brings news of dark times ahead for
Bajor. Meanwhile, as the crew on the station continues to get power
restored, a Klingon ship enters the system, demanding that they leave the
station. |

The crew of Deep Space Nine fights Klingons on both the station and in
space, and they are forced to retreat. Plans begin to move the starbase to
it's former location by the wormhole. |

As Deep Space Nine prepares for the arrival of Kai Opaka, they are warned of
a possible assassination attempt. The U.S.S. Polaris travels to the planet
Grazii to aide in curing a plague. |

Kai Opaka arrives on the station, and the Minister of Intelligence attempts
to assassinate her, though he fails and kills himself after revealing
himself as a member of a cult called the Ju'Du Ra. The away team on the
Polaris is captured by the Grazii King, but they escape. |

Stardate 98157.5 |
The U.S.S. Polaris investigates the disappearance of the U.S.S. T'Vana,
discovering most of the crew dead, and the remaining mutated by a
venom-based substance from an alternate universe. |

Stardate 98162.7 |
The crew of the Polaris track an insane killer back to Deep Space Nine,
where he has taken Captain Wolf hostage. |

Stardate 98162.8 |
The crew fights the Nausicaan ship commandeered by the Joker, then boards
the station and saves the captain, taking Joker into custody. While en route
to Earth, the transport carrying the Joker is destroyed, with no sign of the
lunatic. |

While the crew of Deep Space Nine are attending the signing of the
Cardassian-Bajoran Peaceful Coexistence Agreement, when members of the Bajoran resistance movement attack. |

While investigating the attack, the crew learns that the Obsidian Order is
involved. An agent attempts to assassinate the injured Bajoran First
Minister, but his attempt is thwarted. |
